Poppin is small. So small, in fact, that his mushroom cap keeps slipping down over his eyes no matter how many times he tries to push it back up.
Most days, he’s just a pair of feet sticking out from under a wobbly dome, shuffling around the forest floor with determination and little hops of protest. “I can so see,” he insists, bumping into roots and giggling every time.
He’s quick, curious, and always on his way somewhere — even if he’s not quite sure where that is. When he gets excited (which is often), he bounces in place until tiny spores puff out like surprise confetti.
One day, he swears, he’ll grow tall enough to see the treetops.
Until then, he just keeps trying to lift that cap with all his might — and a little squeaky grunt.
