The teatime witch

she brews hours
lets them steep
until they turn a light green amber.
the air pauses
and takes a breath.

her spoon circles
slow constellations,
and the porcelain remembers
every sip
every question
Left to cool
beside her book
she pours silence into cups
and serves it warm.

those who drink
forget the time
for a moment,
or forever.
